Cypress Creek proved to be a tough opponent in Bi-District playoffs. They came onto Bellaire's home turf at Butler Stadium on Thursday evening and took the first game in a close one with a score of 3-1.
Bella Rivera started on the mound pitching for the Lady Cardinals. This game featured a solo home run from Lauren Magid in the bottom of the 2nd inning, putting Bellaire on the board first. But Cy Creek came back in the 5th inning and scored three runs to take the first game in the series.
Sophie Donalson took the mound in game two. Bella Rivera scored immediately with a solo home run in the 1st inning, and Bellaire extended the lead by one in the 3rd. Cy Creek put on a strong show that same inning with five runs. The Lady Cards tied it up in the 4th, then pulled ahead in the 6th inning with three more runs. Bellaire seemed to get under Cy Creek's skin in the 7th inning when they scored six runs. Cy Creek attempted a comeback but were cut short after two runs. Final score: 14-7.
Game three was a nail-biter with Bella Rivera back on the mound. Bellaire put up two runs in the 1st inning, but Cy Creek came back with five runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. Bellaire rallied once again in the 5th and 6th innings with three runs, taking the lead 6-5. In the 7th inning with two outs and two strikes on the batter, Cy Creek managed a hit to bring in a runner, tying the game. That same inning, a game-saving catch by Bellaire's center fielder, Meaghan Lande, sent the game into extra innings. The game ended after the 8th inning after Bellaire scored three runs and then held Cy Creek. Final score: 9-6.
Stay tuned for Area playoff information...and be sure to come out and cheer on the Lady Cards!

It's game two of bi-district playoffs. It's the first inning, you're the leadoff batter, it's your first at-bat. You watch the first pitch... then what do you do? You send the ball over the center field wall! It's the best way to start out a necessary win to keep playoff hopes alive. Bella's solo home run got things started and gave the team just what they needed to take the game 14-7 against a talented Cypress Creek team.
(Bella is a senior who plays pitcher and third base. She is committed to play for Xavier University of Louisiana, fall of 2025.)

Lauren Magid put her bat to the ball for a very hard line-drive hit over the center field wall in the first bi-district playoff game against Cypress Creek tonight. It was a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning, scoring Bellaire's only run in a close game.
(Lauren is a junior playing catcher and third base. She has verbally committed to Emory University.)

Friday night, teammates, families, friends, and fans honored Bellaire Softball's seven (seven!) seniors: Ella Turney, Ava Skow, Bella Rivera, Meaghan Lande, Sophie Donalson, Sage Canahuati, and Sofia Alvarado.
These girls have played a combined cumulative of over 50 years of softball. Their cumulative GPA is a 3.91. And not only do they stay busy with Bellaire Softball, they are all involved in extra curricular activities, including school clubs, NHS, Booster Club, FFA, select summer softball, church volunteer groups, and other sports. There is a lot to celebrate when it comes to these amazing girls.
Congratulations to all seven of our seniors... for their years of playing softball, and all their accomplishments on and off the field.

The very definition of a "bomb" was hit at tonight's game against Chavez by Lauren Magid. It was a solo home run way over left field in the top of the third inning. It truly was a beautiful hit by a strong player.
(Lauren is a junior playing catcher and third base. She has verbally committed to Emory University.)

Sophie Donalson has committed to play softball for Texas Lutheran University. Sophie – who is one of our starting pitchers, plays first base, and is a hitting machine – will join the TLU team this fall as a pitcher.
The TLU Bulldogs are lucky to have her, and we are thrilled for her as she continues forward doing what she loves and doing it well. We can't wait to cheer for her and her Bulldog teammates next season. As for now, she's doing her thing for the Lady Cardinals, so come cheer her on and see why she'll be a great asset to the Texas Lutheran University!
Big, big congratulations to you, Sophie!
