Sophie Donalson has committed to play softball for Texas Lutheran University. Sophie – who is one of our starting pitchers, plays first base, and is a hitting machine – will join the TLU team this fall as a pitcher.
The TLU Bulldogs are lucky to have her, and we are thrilled for her as she continues forward doing what she loves and doing it well. We can't wait to cheer for her and her Bulldog teammates next season. As for now, she's doing her thing for the Lady Cardinals, so come cheer her on and see why she'll be a great asset to the Texas Lutheran University!
Big, big congratulations to you, Sophie!

The 2025 Softball Season began on Friday, January 10th, with the first practice of the season. But thanks to the balmy January weather of rain and temperatures in the 30's°, the first practice turned into an afternoon of fun and games with team bonding.
Saturday included field cleanup at 10AM, and the official first practice of the season at 11AM.
Bellaire Softball is made up of amazing girls and families - thanks to everyone who came and helped and to those who supported us in other ways.
Looking forward to an amazing season!

Congratulations to Our Pitcher (and sometimes 3rd baseman) Bella Rivera!
Bella Rivera has committed to play softball in New Orleans next year for Xavier University of Louisiana. Bella will play as a full-time pitcher, though they'll appreciate her quick instincts and mechanics from having played part time at 3rd based the past four years.
We are beyond excited for Bella. She has so much to offer the XULA Gold Nugget team: pitching, fielding, and hitting - the trifecta! And her Bellaire teammates and the parents will be her biggest fans. We will have so much fun cheering her and and following her success.
We are so excited for you, Bella... Good luck next year! Until then, we'll enjoy playing with and watching you your senior year.

Bellaire Softball's season came to an end on Saturday, May 4th, after Cinco Ranch took games two and three in the best of three Area Playoff series.
Bellaire took the first game with a score of 2-1, but Cinco Ranch took the second game with a score of 1-8, and then game three with a score of 0-4.Â
It's always sad to see a season end, but good to look back on the memories made, the progress made, and the friendships made. Thanks for the fun season girls! And special mention to our seniors, Ainsley Pinkerton and Mia Lopez for your hard work, dedication, and leadership this year... good luck to you both as you embark on new adventures! As for the rest of you, we are already excited to see you next year!

Bellaire took Game 1 Friday night against Cy-Fair High School with a score of 4-2. Bella Rivera was on the mound pitching for the Lady Cardinals. Cy-Fair scored first in the 1st inning with a run, but Bellaire tied it up their next at-bat. The score remained tied until the bottom of the 3rd inning, when Bellaire got another three runs, taking the lead 4-1. The score remained the same until the top of the 7th inning, when Cy-Fair attempted a comeback, but came up two runs short.
Sophie Donalson took the mound on Saturday and helped pitch a 5-3 win in Game 2. Once again, Cy-Fair scored first, this time with two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning. In the top of the 3rd inning, Ainsley Pinkerton tied up the score with a home run scoring two runs, giving Bellaire the momentum they needed to score another three runs in the 5th inning. Cy-Fair scored one more run in the 4th inning, but couldn't get past the pitching of Donalson and Rivera.

A successful season came to an end on Friday night, May 19th, after Bellaire High School lost Game 1 (Thursday) and Game 2 (Friday) to the Pearland Oilers.
They were tough losses, but the Bellaire Cardinals have a lot to be proud of as they look back on their season. No one could've predicted they'd be playing in the Regional Semifinals for only the second time since 2014, with the other in 2018.
Congratulations on a successful season!

UPDATE: Pearland goes on to win state.
Amazing pitching, excellent defense, and one run was what it took for the Cardinals to advance on to next week's third round of playoffs: Regional Quarterfinals.
In David slew Goliath fashion, Bellaire went in as underdogs against a very solid top ten Texas team: the Katy Tigers. In the first inning, Claire Shelley got the only hit of the game with a single home run. Then solid pitching and defense held Katy to that score, despite the Tigers loading the bases and stranding runners in several innings.
As if each play of the game wasn't exciting enough, the 7th inning provide a grand Hollywood ending. The bottom of the 7th with two outs and runners on first and second, Katy drove one up the middle to centerfielder, Mia Lopez. Lopez was able to get the throw in to third baseman Bella Riviera, who got the tag down on the first base runner for the out... just inches before the tying run could cross home plate. A truly stunning finish to a truly stunning game!
Congratulations, Lady Cardinals!

The Lady Cards will move on to area playoffs next week after beating the Memorial Mustangs. Bellaire won two close games in the best of three.
On Friday night the Mustangs took an early lead with a one-run homer the top of the 4th inning. The Cardinals took the lead the bottom of the 5th when Ainlsey Pinkerton doubled, driving in Ashely Burt and Mia Lopez. The next hit by Meaghan Lande brought in Nina Ozuna, for a 3-1 Bellaire lead. Bellaire maintained their lead despite Memorial scoring another run in the 6th inning, and extended it when Mia Lopez turned her double into a run around the bases on Mustang errors.
On Saturday Bellaire came from behind when Claire Shelley got the Lady Cardinals moving with a three-run homer in the 3rd inning. That was followed by several hits by the Bellaire Cardinals the next two innings, scoring another three runs. Despite a valiant effort by the Mustangs in the 7th inning, when they cut the lead to one run, the Lady Cardinals held them at 6-5.
Congratulations to Bellaire Cardinals Softball!
